Synopsis

Release Date:

June 26,2012

There’s a new girl in town, but she’s not who she seems to be….  Hiding, an all-new Blu-ray™ and DVD release from Anchor Bay Entertainment, will have viewers on the edge of their seats, as they follow the story of a brave young girl who must cope with much more than typical teenage angst.  The nail-biting thriller stars Ana Villafañe (“Los Americans”) in her debut feature film role as Alicia Torres, who is forced to relocate from her big city home to a small town following the gruesome murder of her parents.  Now in the Witness Protection Program, Alicia must find a way to accept her new identity, even as she’s haunted by images of her parents’ murder.   Written by Brian Hurwitz, directed by Thomas J. Wright and co-starring Jeremy Sumpter (“Friday Night Lights,” Peter Pan (2003), Soul Surfer) and Tyler Blackburn (“Pretty Little Liars,” “Days of Our Lives”).

Alicia Torres (Ana Villafañe) was a typical New York City teenager until her parents were murdered and she becomes a key witness in the trial against the son of a notorious crime boss.  She has no choice but to enter the Witness Protection Program – and leave everything she knew and loved behind.  From the hustle and bustle of the Big Apple, Alicia must move to the tiny town of Longview, Montana and adopt a new identity as Josephine Russo or “Jo.”  Beyond these drastic changes, Jo has to abide by a strict set of new rules.  She is now posing as an Italian-American girl from Seattle and is no longer allowed to speak Spanish or to be in contact with anyone from her previous life (no cell phone, no Facebook, no email) – nothing that could give away her true identity.  At an age when most kids are just starting to understand who they really are, the only thing Alicia can't be is herself.

At her new school, Jo meets Jesse (Tyler Blackburn), the enigmatic artist who represents what she left behind, and Brett (Jeremy Sumpter), the “all-American” boy, who stands for everything she’s expected to become.  But as Jo tries to put together the pieces of her new life, the secret that even she doesn’t know is that the hit man hired by the crime boss behind her parents’ murder is looking for her – and the real fight for her life is about to begin.
